Both funeral home and cemetery staff told the family of the deceased’s “wishes". The fact that they were obviously upselling the family by lying about their father’s wishes is disgraceful. The family knew Mr. Espinoza’s wishes and what the staff were trying to sell to the family, and pressure them to purchase, was not even close. At a time when people are most vulnerable, your staff should be kind and understanding. Not commission seekers. The family ordered and paid for prayer cards that could not be printed due to printer failure at funeral home. Most people did not receive one because they were made available late. The family was charged and paid for “Use of Facilities and Related Services” presumably beyond “Basic Services of the Funeral Director and Staff” charge. There was no service done at the funeral home and NO staff were on site at the church to assist. Family was told that there was ’no one available’ to staff the service. $1,690 in over charges. Dignity Website and facility TV said funeral would be at Brookside. When we all arrived, we were just told 'NO, he is not here'. Many friends and business associates missed the funeral due to your error. Maintenance vehicles, tractor with trailer of dirt pulling up as we were still finishing the burial services. We actually were asked to step aside so they could pull up the grave site. Very RUDE and extremely disrespectful. I have a long string of emails and phone call notes from my effort to simply pay the bill. The errors and lack of ability from everyone I spoke to made this an extremely unprofessional process. I spent hours, literally hours, trying to pay the bill. That is terrible customer service.

First meeting I felt like I was in interrogation room with a director and others . Felt like they did not listen to my concerns. Something that should have been so simple to go there pay for it and leave end up taking over a week. Dealing with the director was horrible it was like he was constantly wanting me to deal with his timeline and nothing to do with my concerns and my timeline. Even setting up appointment to pick up cremation remains end up being so upsetting. Set up a time and date and meeting to pick up remains and the director didn't even show up so I waited over an hour in the lobby didn't even put me in a room . A secretary end up bringing me my loved ones cremation remains in the middle of the lobby so I walk towards a room to get the bag only to hear her apologies that the director was not there and didn't even leave a message for someone to take care of me. All I can say is Brookside Funeral home is nothing like I remember I will not be using them I will use someone else to take care of my family in the time of need. And to walk in and need someone to talk to if you don't have appointments you're not going to get in and if you do you may wait for hours and you may be conducting your business in the lobby sad really sad. Just remember in the time of need you're so distraught and don't even realize what is happening and then not have a caring director and associates . Terrible to say but it was almost like dealing with a car dealership once they sold you the car you're out the door and you're forgotten. Brookside remember first impressions in the time of need are like treasures for our love one's. For me my experience was not good, something that should have gave me comfort turned out to be horrific experience mainly because director did not listen to my concerns.
